Product Description

The DM’s Solution created by John Pratt of Hrothgar’s Hoard is an all in one tool for a Dungeon Master. Today we will be taking a look at the Accessory Case which can either be purchased independently of the full DM Solution, or in conjunction with it. You can read more about The DM Solution here.

The wood featured in these images is wenge wood, an African hardwood. Similar to the full DM Solution, the Accessory Case features antique brass finished closings and hinges. While the featured product does not have an engraving on it, customers may pay an additional ten dollars to have it engraved. They will have multiple options to choose from for engravings, including Cthulhu, Beholders, Dragons, Yggdrasil or a Sword and Roses.

On the interior of the Accessory Case,  you will find a foam insert with cutouts to hold a miniature, two sets of dice and any pens or pencils you may need for game play. The foam inserts work to keep your items projected during travel.

Negatives:

  • Only Space for One Miniature

Just like the rest of The DM Solution, the build of the Accessory Case is superb. It is sturdy, and it can hold up to transportation. The foam insert ensures that during transportation, dice and miniatures stay safe. This is especially helpful for those who use dice of an exotic material such as wood or gemstones. Additionally, miniatures which can be difficult to transport will stay safe while traveling. Unfortunately, the Accessory Case only has room for one miniature, which may not benefit DMs to the extent they would like. I find that most DMs who use miniatures will end up using at least 2-3 during a session. I would have loved to see the case have space for just a few more.  However, the good news in its small size, is that when it is closed, everything sits comfortably inside of the The DM Solution for easy transport.

Just like The DM Solution, the Accessory Case was created with a traveling gamer in mind. The Accessory Case is small enough to fit into a backpack or purse, and takes up very little table space. Perfect for those who travel to conventions or stores to run games. I almost think the Accessory Case lends itself more to regular players than DMs even, because of the space for just one miniature and two sets of dice. It would be perfect for players who don’t want to carry too much.

I also love that Hrothgar’s Hoard is offering players the opportunity to customize their Accessory Case as well as The DM Solution. Buyers will have the choice between multiple types of woods, and exterior artwork.  This means that players can truly create something that fits their personality and interests.

All in all, I would highly suggest Accessory Case for any RPG gamer who has to frequently travel, but especially to those who travel with fragile items.  The case demonstrates a focus on providing a great gaming experience, and has great craftsmanship and aesthetics. It is so easy to transport, and when combined with The DM Solution, truly provides an all in solution for players looking to make gaming on the go easier.
