May 2018: Pre-orders and Kickstarters

May is already coming to a close, so I figured I would take the time to share today what Kickstarter projects and pre-orders I decided to support this month. This was a slow month for me, so there are only a few things that I backed.

Kickstarter

growlGrowl- Growl is a social deduction based game. It plays similar to Werewolf but requires no moderator and has some different rules. I love Werewolf, and love using it in my class. I am hoping that if  I enjoy Growl, I can pick up a few more copies for my classroom. The Kickstarter is now over, but pre-ordering has opened up.

kraken

Kraken Dice- Kraken Dice is in their last 24 hours (5/29). I have a soft spot for dice, and I am always really impressed with the quality of Kraken Dice when I purchase from them. They always include nice packaging and fun goodies. Supporting their Kickstarter is another way to make sure they are still available to get dice from. Plus, their selection of dice for the Kickstarter is awesome. I am planning on getting the Dragon Egg, Ethereal Dragon Egg and the Ethereal Saberwolf at this point. My husband is also getting three sets.

Doxie Dash-Doxie Dash is in their last week on Kickstarter. This is a game that I was given a review copy of that I absolutely adored. It plays in a way that feels similar to games like Sushi Go! but has an asymmetric mechanic to it that really feels unique and creates more replayability.

Pre-Order

My little scythe

My Little Scythe– My Little Scythe will be available right around the time of Gencon. This is Stonemaier’s standalone game based off Scythe with a more family friendly theme. While the family will enjoy this game, it also will appeal to adults without children. I love the chibi miniatures in this project and it’s bright table presence.

rise of fenrisRise of Fenris– Rise of Fenris will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow, and I will pre-order it right away. It is also set for a release around Q3 this year. It is the final expansion to Scythe, my favorite board game so it was a no brainer for me. This game is a campaign (NOT legacy) style expansion that will delve more into the backstory of Scythe and give players 8 campaign mode games, and 11 new modules to play.
